MBTA announces service changes and suspensions for March

The Orange Line and four Commuter Rail lines will see service suspensions in March to allow for work on signal systems and other upgrades, the MBTA announced Wednesday. The MBTA is suspending the Orange Line and the Fitchburg, Haverhill, Lowell, and Newburyport/Rockport commuter trains on some weekends starting in late February until the end of March, the agency said.

Replacing our existing 100-year-old signals with modern equipment means less time spent praying your train starts moving again soon while sitting in tunnels or delayed in stations. Meanwhile the additional ADA stations are yet more proof that this MTA is addressing the needs of economically-challenged populations in our City: seniors, parents with young children, and of course, people with disabilities.
