A fault with the signalling system at Lewisham is causing disruption to services this morning, with trains running through the station subject to cancellations, delays or revisions until around 9am. The issue means services from Hither Green towards central London are currently unable to use platform 1 at Lewisham. As a result, trains heading towards central London from Sidcup and Sevenoaks are unable to call at Lewisham.
Commuters relying on a busy Overground line faced disruption over the morning rush hour due to a power supply issue. The failure at London Euston suspended Lioness trains into the station. Meanwhile, a fault with the signalling system at London Charing Cross is preventing trains from using platforms 1, 2 and 3. The District, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines were also all reporting delays, while early travellers on the Elizabeth line faced disruption with no trains running from Woolwich into central London.
Troubles on London Underground's Northern line that have disrupted journeys for millions of commuters since Sunday could persist into next week, with engineers still baffled by the cause of the signalling fault. Transport for London (TfL) is understood to be considering cancelling the weekend night tube service to allow time for extensive investigations if specialist engineers cannot fix the problem on Thursday night.
