A speeding stop turned into an arrest on suspicion of DUI for the driver of a commercial semitrailer truck earlier this week after the California Highway Patrol pulled over a big rig on the Central Coast. According to the CHP, the driver was caught traveling 82 mph headed south on Highway 101 near Avila Beach, and when an officer made contact, the driver allegedly displayed signs of intoxication.

A driver and her passenger were seriously injured Tuesday and two dogs in their vehicle ultimately died after their minivan crashed into a concrete barrier at the F.E. Everett Turnpike toll plaza in Bedford, New Hampshire. The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. as Cheryl North, 76, of Manchester, was driving a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica south on the highway and veered before hitting the barrier, according to New Hampshire State Police.

German police clocked a Porsche driver at 199mph (320km/h) on the autobahn, nearly three times the speed limit of 75mph (120km/h) for that stretch.
