Nashville brand Imogene + Willie is well known and deservedly lauded for its selvage denim, but it's other offerings often fly under the radar. Case in point, this pitch-perfect vintage-leaning thermal. Outside of Japan, I'm not sure anyone does vintage re-issues better than i+w, the brand's catalog is full of 50s and 60s references (and the occasional tried and true vintage piece). Here, the brand channels thermal underwear's military origins and uses just a hint of nylon to retain shape.
Squeezing genuine desktop performance into a compact laptop is easier said than done; the balance between performance, battery life, size, weight, and thermals is hard to get right, and this is one reason Apple's 14in MacBook Pro has been so successful.
Anne Soltow's glider was leading the field all day. Now it is in an actual field and a kilometre short of the finish. The single-seater sailplane looks like a giant alien bug: long slender fuselage, a canopy encasing the cockpit like a single eye, epic wings, 15 metres tip to tip. They were all that was keeping Soltow's engineless aircraft in the sky until 10 minutes ago.
