Right-hander Tyler Glasnow "has come up in conversations" between the Dodgers and other teams, ESPN's Alden Gonzalez writes. There isn't any indication that any sort of trade is close or that Glasnow will be dealt at all, as Gonzalez notes that a trade scenario seems like "a long shot." However, "the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving" Glasnow, so it would appear the starter isn't exactly untouchable.
Matias Maccelli has had a slow start so far in his first season in a Toronto Maple Leafs uniform. With other NHL teams making players available for trades, could the Leafs put Maccelli's name out there? He was acquired by the Leafs in a trade with the Utah Mammoth, where Toronto sent a 2027 third-round pick in exchange for the now 25-year-old forward.
The Blue Jays whiffed on the brightest stars of the past two free agent classes -- Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto -- and Rogers Communications still has money to spend after investing $500 million in Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in April and another $210 million recently in free agent starter Dylan Cease. Tucker visited the Blue Jays' facility in Florida last week. Pairing the left-handed-hitting outfielder with the right-handed-hitting Guerrero would give Toronto a scary tandem for years.
The Los Angeles Clippers have had a difficult last three months. Star forward Kawhi Leonard and owner Steve Ballmer became the epicenter of a scandal to allegedly circumvent the NBA salary cap by investing in a fraudulent environmental start-up, Aspiration. The team is also off to a disastrous 6-17 start and is expected to be one of the more active trade partners ahead of the 2025-26 NBA Trade Deadline, less than two months away.
Coleman's playoff track record is very attractive to teams that are looking for Stanley Cup-winning experience. During his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he helped the Bolts win back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021, he scored the insurance goal in the Lightning's 2-0 win in Game 6 of the Cup final against the Stars. In 65 career playoff games, Coleman has recorded 31 points (12 goals and 19 assists).
Joining Cease in the starting five are Kevin Gausman, Trey Yesavage, Shane Bieber, and Jose Berrios, a formidable group that each brings something a little bit different to the table in how they get the job done. It's a good mix of youth and veteran status that should be pretty strikeout-heavy while beating you with offspeed pitches, whether it's a fastball, splitter, changeup, or slider.
In a vacuum, AD is the type of superstar that would appeal to the Heat. He's also one who would be a particularly intriguing fit next to Bam Adebayo in the frontcourt. There's no guarantee he'd be a player on the team's radar, but you'd have to assume there have, at the very least, been conversations inside the front office about the possibility.
The blueliner was placed on IR, Jacob Quillan, who's had a hot start for the Marlies, was recalled. On Carlo, just get right. If that means missing some time, so be it. He's had a rough start, so perhaps some time away for a reset could do wonders for his overall game. The blue line depth is being tested severely, but honestly, this could prove to be a blessing in disguise. It's not like anyone on the backend's playing particularly well right now anyway.
At this week's GM Meetings, Krall again downplayed the idea of trading a starting pitcher and was a bit more forceful with regard to Greene in particular ( link via Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer). Krall still declined to speak in absolutes but came close when speaking about the possibility of trading Greene, specifically: "...[T]hat's a hard one to actually say, 'Hey, we're going to trade the guy that has a chance to be the ace of your staff and top-of-the-rotation guy going into the postseason.' We're looking to figure out how to get better, but right now that's not on the table."
Tippett played his junior hockey in Mississauga, and has turned himself into a consistent 20-goal scorer, who isn't afraid to use his body to make an impact on the game. He has landed 115, 148, and 125 hits the past three seasons, and could give the Maple Leafs a nice mix of speed, skill, and determination among their top six. So far this season, the former 2017 first-round pick has scored five goals in 13 games, and is on pace for his first 30-goal season.
