For most of his career, Dr. Loco has been the life of the party. Now, celebrating his life is the point of the party. The saxophonist, accordionist, vocalist and leader of the Rockin' Jalapeño Band, Dr. Loco is the musical alter ego of esteemed anthropologist JoseB. Cuéllar and the subject of an era-encompassing concert Sunday afternoon, Dec.B.14, at Brava Theater Center.

My old therapist gave me the idea to throw a party, get-together for my father. I didn't even realize it was about to be 10 years until he brought it up. My brain started cooking ideas up instantly.

And they were all there, shining brightly, in honor of the one and only Emmylou Harris. Joan Baez, Bonnie Raitt, Lucinda Williams, Rodney Crowell, Allison Russell, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin, Rosanne Cash, Sam Bush, Patty Griffin, Albert Lee, Margo Price, Buddy Miller and, yes, even the star of the evening herself Harris all performed during the charming and heartwarming A Tribute to Emmylou Harris & 25 Years of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass show.

The upcoming World Bash, presented by Garfield Chin Bourne, aims to revive the vibrant 90s Brooklyn Dancehall scene, featuring music and tributes to legendary DJs.
