Weight becomes a visible shortcut for judging children’s health, care, and worth, leading to emotional, judgmental public commentary.
My job is fully remote, with quarterly in-person "conferences" that last a few days. My company is fitness-related, and people are paying a lot of attention to weight. Over the past year, my doctor nailed down a long-term health condition I didn't know I had, and we worked on treatment. As a result, I've lost about 60 pounds. Almost all of it was in my body.
When we first got together, people immediately assumed the reason we were a couple was because my husband had a fat fetish, which is extremely narrow-minded. We still get comments like: 'It must be hard knowing that someone is with you because of your size' or 'Is your husband a feeder?' or 'He wouldn't love you if you lost weight.'
