Anthony Albertorio, charged with sexually abusing a laundromat worker in Manhattan, was released on supervised release despite prosecutors upgrading his charges. The incident occurred in February, where he allegedly assaulted a 41-year-old employee in front of a witness. Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg condemned the act, emphasizing the seriousness of upgraded felonies against Albertorio. Local residents described him as a persistent threat in the Inwood and Harlem areas, with reports of stalking and harassment prompting safety warnings within the community.
This alleged abuse is extremely disturbing and no employee should have to endure this at their place of work, Bragg said.
Locals say that Albertorio has been a menace to the Inwood and Harlem area, alleging that he is known to stalk and harass women and children.
