Chargers LT Alt (ankle) ruled out vs. Washington
"Alt exited the first quarter of the Chargers' Week 4 loss to the New York Giants on a medical cart, after Giants outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux fell into Alt's right leg during a play early in the first quarter."
"Harbaugh said that right guard Mekhi Becton, who missed last week's game against the Giants with a concussion, is still in the NFL's concussion protocol, but that Becton has just one final step to clear to play Sunday."
""We'll just keep that to ourselves," he said. "... We have a good plan.""
"He said Wednesday that he was working to "get back as fast as we can.""
The Chargers ruled out left tackle Joe Alt with a high right ankle sprain and wide receiver Derius Davis with a knee injury for Sunday. Tarheeb Still will continue returning punts in Davis's absence. Alt left Week 4 on a medical cart after a collision and missed all practice while walking with a boot. Alt said he was working to "get back as fast as we can." Head coach Jim Harbaugh declined to name the left-tackle starter but said the team has a plan. Right guard Mekhi Becton remains in concussion protocol but took a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable. Without Alt, the offensive line struggled and Justin Herbert was hit repeatedly and sacked twice in the Week 4 game.
