A partnership between Studio Manifold and Simone Haag transformed an unloved 1986 house in Yarra Valley into a beloved home. Morgan Novy noted its cold and soulless feel, with elements like roots in the windows and worn carpet. Despite its state, the property featured stunning views and significant potential. Owners Andrew and Tiff Percy decided on a comprehensive renovation instead of a simple kitchen update, appreciating Studio Manifold’s full concept that promoted modern living through thoughtful design enhancements.
"The first time we visited, it didn't feel like anyone had ever really lived there and loved it and embraced it," says Studio Manifold cofounder and codirector Morgan Novy of the 1986 John Pizzey home in the Yarra Valley.
Roots were coming in through the windows; the carpet was 'daggy,' the bathroom layout 'horrendous,' and a '90s addition had no flow.
Still, the 4,575-square-foot Oregon timber, stone, and glass abode... held plenty of magic, not only within its sturdy walls but beyond them.
Initially considering a light kitchen reno, once the Percys realized they would be spending significant time at the property and its working vineyard, they fell for Studio Manifold's full concept package.
