LaCombe, 24, signed an eight-year deal that carries a $9 million average annual value, a source told ESPN on Thursday. The contract is the largest ever given out by the Ducks. The extension has the same AAV as the deal defenseman Luke Hughes signed with the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, although that was on a seven-year term. LaCombe's new contract will begin in the 2026-27 season and end in 2033-34.
I'm not the slightest bit concerned about it, and I don't think about it, Kerr said. I think it makes perfect sense, and I think that however it ends, it's going to be done in a really quality way. It's going to happen in the right way. If it's meant for me to keep going, I'm going to keep going, Kerr continued. If it's meant to be for the team to move on to somebody else, there will be nothing but gratitude and appreciation. This makes it easy for everybody. Let's just see where we are at the end of the year.
As we said a couple of weeks ago when we started, we were hopeful about getting something done and getting that certainty going into the new season. He has been good for us. He obviously has a lot of good hockey ahead of him. We have that out of the way. It is like any deal. There is a give and a take on both sides. I think the number is a good number for us. It gives Anthony some security. We're happy to get it done.
For me, I'm so focused. I'm more happy about the team that we got going into this season. I'm blessed, bro. I wasn't stressing about anything. If something happened, it happened. If it didn't, I still got time. I'm focused on this team. I'm focused on right now. I got a great team going into the season that you can't say I've had [before]. So I'm even more excited about that. Who knows what the future is for me. But right now I'm here and I'm present like me and Coach [Quin Snyder] have been talking about. I'm ready to go.
Kevin Durant said he envisions himself signing a contract extension with the Rockets and described how a bond and respect level with coach Ime Udoka led him to engineer a trade to bring him to Houston. Durant is in the final year of a contract that will pay him $55 million and is eligible to sign a new deal. There was some belief that Durant would work out a contract extension with the Rockets as a part of Houston's deal with the Suns.
"I'm delighted to sign an extension with the club, a place that has been home for 16 years and counting now," Roland-Jones told the club's website, external. "I remain as motivated as ever to try and push the standards and restore the club back to its desired position, competing in Division One cricket whilst challenging for white-ball honours. "It was a privilege to lead this great club, and I'm equally excited to slip back into the bowling ranks and assist the new leadership in any way possible."
"Obviously so happy," Romanov said before making his preseason debut in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Devils. "But you got to prove that you're responsible to play at this high level for the next eight years. We're not only talking about this year, next year. All eight years." So what does that mean in practice? For Romanov, it's simple: "Just play hard. Hardest hockey I ever played. Go all out."
Vitor has made a very positive impact during his time at Wolves. He's brought clarity, energy and a team spirit that gives us a foundation to be successful. Now is a time for stability. Vitor needs time to work with the squad, to build a chemistry with new players, and we will do everything to support him and his staff.
The way that Cristian Romero tells it, there was a kind of rage inside him, an overwhelming desire for Tottenham to be better that sometimes overtook him. The defender could not help himself, he needed to make his views known, but when all of the pieces were put together from last season and into the summer, it was difficult to see that he was planning on staying at the club.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Broncos are signing Nik Bonitto to a four-year, $106 million deal. His contract is worth up to $120 million, and Bonitto is guarenteed $70 million at signing. He is one of three players that Denver signed to a long-term deal this offseason. That includes Zach Allen and Courtland Sutton. Nik Bonitto was given a four-year, $106 million extension from the Broncos
SEATTLE Colton McKivitiz has capitalized on the NFL's red-hot market for right tackles, and the 49ers, in turn, have locked in another homegrown starter. McKivitz has secured a three-year, $45 million extension with $27 million guaranteed, ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported Monday morning. McKivitz played all 68 offensive snaps in the 49ers' 17-13, season-opening comeback win at the Seattle Seahawks.
Less than 24 hours ahead of the season opener at Green Bay, Williams agreed to the new deal which will set him up for the future. However, although the Lions and Pro Bowl edge Aidan Hutchinson have had positive contract conversations, they are not expected to reach a deal for him before the season starts, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
