'Self-proclaimed pillar of society' was heard complaining about conditions in cell before hearing Moments before the paedophile Pat Salmon learnt his fate for the horrific abuse of a five-year-old, he complained to his counsel about having had to sleep on the floor of his overcrowded cell the night before. Salmon (89), of Rookfield, Knock, Co Mayo, was remanded in custody last Thursday before the finalisation of his sentencing yesterday by Ms Justice Caroline Biggs at the Central Criminal Court.
