Starting with the hosts, while Juventus might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the new campaign, Juventus have failed to find a similar level over the past fortnight. Suffering last-gasp Champions League frustration earlier in the week as they eventually had to settle for a pulsating 2-2 stalemate away at Spanish outfit Villarreal, the Old Lady have now only collected a single point from any of their previous four appearances across all competitions.
According to Fabrizio Romano (via @iMiaSanMia), Juve were in the market for a right-back, but balked at Bayern's price tag of €50 million for the Croatian International. Bayern also counter-offered Sacha Boey, but Juventus was not interested. Per the report, the 25-year old Stanišić will remain a target for Juventus going forward. His contract with the German Rekordmeister runs until the Summer of 2029. Unless something changes drastically with his performance, Bayern will likely not lower their asking price in the near future.
Zhegrova joined the Serie A giants from Lille in a deal worth €14.3m plus up to €3m in add-ons, following David to Italy after he completed his free transfer in July. The 26-year-old winger scored eight goals and provided two assists in all competitions for the French club last season, adding some firepower to Igor Tudor's ranks. Zhegrova missed 28 games for Lille with an adductor injury, but has been brought in to replace Nico Gonzalez, who has joined Atletico Madrid on loan.
Nicolas Jackson is determined to work with Vincent Kompany. The Belgian first tried to sign him while he was still managing Anderlecht, and Jackson is determined to finally work with him.
The home shirt, made by adidas, is said to take inspiration from the 1976/77 design, featuring classic black and white stripes with the potential addition of gold trim and logos for a touch of luxury. The away kit will go pink, paying homage to Juve's earliest colours, and will reportedly include both the retro adidas Trefoil logo and a stylised zebra crest a bold nod to the club's roots.
