OAKLAND One of the alleged gunman in a wild 2023 double homicide has been sentenced to probation and time he had already served in jail, court records show. In a plea deal with prosecutors, Sir Cameron Young, 23, pleaded no contest to an assault weapon possession charge in exchange for the probation sentence. Prosecutors dropped other charges of assault and gun possession as part of the deal, court records show.

Bryan Keith Hall, 48, was charged with murder in the killing of Officer Joshua Byrd, who was shot dead inside a California Department of Corrections building.
