When police raided the home of Matias Jurado on July 31 in one of the largest neighborhoods of San Salvador de Jujuy, the provincial capital, they had no idea they would be dealing with a suspected serial killer. Security forces arrived in search of Jorge Omar Anachuri, a 68-year-old man with a motor disability who had disappeared a week earlier.
Police are searching for a second suspect in a Bronx shooting last month that killed a 34-year-old man. Kelvin Mosquea was fatally shot outside his home at 710 Croes Ave. in Clason Point on Aug. 26, shortly after 1 p.m., police said. Officers from the 43rd Precinct found him unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the torso.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- Police are investigating the deaths of three people in apparent shooting in San Jose on Tuesday. SJPD received calls about gun shots and and a woman screaming for help just before 12:30 a.m. on 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue. Police found a woman shot outside of the home. She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died, SJPD said.
BROOKLYN, NY - A 95-year-old woman is accused of allegedly beating a fellow nursing home resident with a piece of metal from her wheelchair on Sunday, police said Monday. The incident happened at the Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, located at 3015 West 29th St., in Coney Island around 10:30 p.m., police said. Officers found an 89-year-old woman with severe head trauma.
A woman who was stabbed during a brawl in West Hollywood early Sunday morning is in critical condition, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said it received a call about a fight involving "multiple people" in the area of Santa Monica Boulevard between San Vicente and Robertson boulevards -where several popular bars are located - around 3 a.m. When deputies responded to the call, they found a woman in her early 20s who had sustained a serious stab wound to her upper body, according to Deputy Jacob Sivley
A second person has died as a result of a house fire in Richmond Hill, Ont., on Monday, according to York Regional Police. The victim, a 24-year-old woman, died on Wednesday in hospital of her injuries. In a news release on Thursday, police identified her as Helya Bahari-Kashani of Richmond Hill. An 11-year-old girl, also injured in the blaze, died in hospital on Tuesday. Three other people hurt in the fire remain in critical condition in hospital.
Two men were fatally shot in a Cerritos park early Sunday morning, with witnesses reporting that a hail of gunfire had erupted, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. Witnesses told sheriff's homicide investigators that at around 2:30 a.m., several vehicles were parked at the south side of the Cerritos Sports Complex and Skate Park on Bloomfield Avenue. Twenty to 25 gunshots rang out, and the vehicles fled, according to witnesses.
The homicide unit of the York Regional Police is investigating after a person died at a residence early Sunday in Vaughan. Officers responded to a call about an injured person at a residence near Andreeta Drive and Barons Street at around 1 a.m., York Regional Police said in a social media post. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
