The Eagles have the ninth-easiest remaining strength of schedule in the NFL, according to ESPN's Football Power Index. They play the 2-11 Las Vegas Raiders at home Sunday. Two of their final three games are against the 3-10 Washington Commanders, sandwiching a Dec. 28th trip to take on the 9-4 Buffalo Bills.
Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter is out for Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Chargers after undergoing procedures this past Monday on both his shoulders, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Thursday. Carter now is undergoing treatment on both shoulders and is considered to be week-to-week to return. Carter wanted to be as close to 100% as possible for the playoff run, the sources told Schefter.
Philadelphia Eagles rookie safety Andrew Mukuba suffered an ankle fracture that will require surgery, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday. Mukuba suffered the injury during Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and it will be determined during surgery whether there is potential for him to return this season. Selected in the second round of this year's draft, Mukuba has appeared in the Eagles' first 11 games, making 10 starts. He has two interceptions, three passes defended and 46 tackles, included two for loss.
Philadelphia has committed nearly $200 million to its offense this season, the highest figure in the NFL and a full $20 million more than the next closest teams, the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. Yet despite this enormous financial commitment, the Eagles' offense remains stuck in neutral. They've won games largely on the back of a stingy, disciplined defense, while Jalen Hurts and the offense have done just enough to survive.
Sunday's signature Big Goofy Idea, though, was a bold one even for Campbell. He somehow managed to convince Philadelphia Eagles fans to boo their team off the field at halftime and then could only watch as the Eagles won them all back by the end of the game. The Eagles did this simply by changing their identity from offensive clown show to defensive monolith, and Campbell's Lions let it happen by refusing to change anything at all.
Oh, come on... come on! That is terrible! That is an absolutely terrible call that's going to decide this football game! If anything, it's an offensive push! You want to call a foul, that's an offensive foul... wow.
Things were rocky around the Eagles after a two-game slide. First, a 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos on Oct. 4 -- just their second defeat in over a year. When reporters entered the home locker room afterward, it was silent and had a feel more normally associated with a postseason exit. "I think this team forgot how to lose," a reporter whispered.
