One person is dead following a fire at a residence in Clarington, Ont., Sunday night, according to Durham police. Crews arrived at the fire on Nash Road just before 10:40 p.m., police said in a statement Monday morning. When they got there, they found one person dead inside the home. Ontario's Office of the Fire Marshal is on scene and is investigating the cause of the blaze, police said.
FIVE young residents have died and four others have sustained minor injuries after a fire ripped through the storage area of a residential building in Manlleu, in northeastern Catalonia, according to regional firefighters late on Monday, February 16. The deadly blaze had broken out in a storage room of a five-storey building in the town, located 80 kilometres north of Barcelona in the Osona area.
Fire marshals are investigating the cause of a blaze that tore through a three-story private home in East Flatbush, damaging the first and second floors, officials said. The fire broke out at 611 East 57 St. on Thursday, Jan. 8. Crews from Engine Company 310 and Ladder Company 174 were the first to arrive and encountered heavy fire conditions inside the attached dwelling.

A man has been accused of arson and attempted murder after a fire at a block of flats in north London left three children in hospital. The Metropolitan Police said it charged Nathaniel Dwyer-White, 33, in relation to a fire in a residential building in Maybury Close, Enfield, on Monday. He was charged on Wednesday with attempted murder, arson with intent to endanger life, causing actual bodily harm, stalking and sending threatening letters or communication, police said.
The blaze destroyed nearly everything they owned and displaced them from their home with just a few belongings in a matter of several hours, Evans told Hyperallergic in a phone call from a hotel where she is currently living. LFB Police are investigating a fire that virtually destroyed a house in north-east London believed to have been used as a cannabis factory. Twelve fire engines and about 80 firefighters were called to the mid-terraced property in Walthamstow shortly before 03:00 BST. The Met Police said officers also attended and found evidence of cannabis plants at the house on Knebworth Avenue, although no arrests were made.
