Owner Joe Carroll reported that the fire, which appears to have been electrical and started in the basement, left the restaurant's dining room untouched. Despite the damage, there were no injuries.

"Bang Bang Bangkok opened at 131 Grand Street in late July, taking over from Taqueria Mexico 2000 and completely transforming the space with an eye-catching cobalt blue exterior and interior dining room designed to look like you're in a moving bus."
