The biotechnology company Thermo Fisher Scientific is closing its Franklin facility, impacting up to 80 workers, the company said. In a statement to Boston.com, Thermo Fisher said it is closing its chemical analysis facility by the end of 2026. Most of the work will move to other U.S. facilities, as the company adjusts operations to meet current customer demand. The company said impacted workers will receive job transition support, with many employees relocating to other Massachusetts-based facilities.

Hyundai says it "plans to integrate Atlas across its global network", including a plant in the US state of Georgia that was involved in a massive immigration raid in 2025. Other firms that have said they will use humanoid robots in their operations include Amazon, Tesla and Chinese car making giant BYD. The Atlas robots will gradually take on more tasks, said Hyundai.
Matt Garman, the CEO of Amazon Web Services, is looking to change that. At the recent AWS re:Invent conference, Garman announced a bunch of frontier AI models, as well as a tool designed to let AWS customers build models of their own. That tool, Nova Forge, allows companies to engage in what's known as custom pretraining-adding their data in the process of building a base model-which should allow for vastly more customized models that suit a given company's needs.

According to the report from Business Insider, EA's top brass over the past year has urged its nearly 15,000 workers to use AI for everything from coding and concept art to scripting conversations around performance reviews and promotions. Internal documents Business Insider obtained showed some workers are not just expected to take multiple AI training courses, but also use AI daily to expedite work, with the idea that the tech is a "thought partner."
