Now that artificial intelligence is giving employees back hours of time every day, organizations must help their workers reimagine their roles beyond routine output and start contributing in ways that AI can't.

Organizations are scrambling to keep up with employees using AI tools like ChatGPT, text generators, and automation platforms to help them at work. The phenomenon is known as Bring Your Own AI. And while workers are hitting performance goals faster, they're also exposing companies to unprecedented legal and security risks.

On an initial glance, a video that's going viral on social media looks like a typical 1990s TV commercial for a children's toy set of a tropical island: there are palm trees, a waterfall, and - wait a minute - there's also a secret massage room, and even an "Orange Man" action figure who looks exactly like Donald Trump and says "don't release the files" in an ominous voice.

The firm estimates Sora's iOS app has pulled in a total of 164,000 installs during its first two days, September 30th and October 1st. The day-one figure puts Sora's debut ahead of the performance of other major AI app launches, including Anthropic's Claude and Microsoft's Copilot, and puts it on par with xAI's Grok launch. Meanwhile, OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini iOS apps had a somewhat stronger launch, with each reaching at least 80,000 downloads on day one.

AI character chatbots have grown to be the most discussed use of artificial intelligence applications for the year 2025. Their use goes beyond simple and mundane conversations as they have also assumed the roles of emotional partners, artistic collaborators and entertainment aides. Thanks to the Internet and the digitalization brought by Gen Z, the conversations with digitally constructed characters keeps on improving and developing.

Only 9% of Americans are using AI chatbots like ChatGPT or Gemini as a news source, with 2% using AI to get news often, 7% sometimes, 16% rarely, and 75% never, Pew found. Even those who do use it for news are having trouble trusting it. A third of those who use AI as a news source say it's difficult to distinguish what is true from false. The largest share of respondents, 42%, is not sure whether it's determinable.

As hype around generative AI continues to rattle the software sector, more specialized software companies may be among the most resilient players and the most underappreciated. RBC Capital Markets wrote on Wednesday that vertical software - tools specifically designed for industries such as healthcare, insurance, and industrial design - could weather AI disruption in the near term and benefit from it in the long run.

Anthropic has released Claude Sonnet 4.5, an update of the company's coding model that features extended autonomous operation, greater context awareness, and enhanced tool usage. Claude Sonnet 4.5 shows significant improvements on real-world computer tasks, agentic coding, agentic terminal coding, and agentic tools use, as well as reasoning and math, according to Anthropic. Claude Sonnet 4.5 can be accessed by developers using claude-sonnet-4-5 via the Claude API.

As AI quickly advances and legislators struggle to keep up, it can feel like the Wild West when choosing whether and how to disclose the use of AI in advertising and other communications. However, even though the number and scope of formal mandates under existing U.S. law that require advertisers to disclose the use of AI are limited, there are some restrictions and guidelines that advertisers must follow to ensure their compliance.

OpenAI has been clear in its messaging that different models perform differently. But my recent testing has shown that different interaction modes, even using the same model, also perform differently. As it turns out, ChatGPT in Voice Mode (both Standard and Advanced) is considerably less accurate than the web version. The reason? The Magnificent Seven mainstay reported EPS of $3.65 versus analysts' expectations of $3.35, while quarterly revenue came in at $76.44 billion.

AI is fantastic! The possibilities are limitless! A true revolution! And its biggest achievement might be to push digital back to being an addition to our lives, instead of the very centre of them. Wait, what?! No! YES, but don't panic. Ads have always been there and always will be. This is not a declaration of the end of anything.

The conversation around the use of AI in Learning and Development (L&D) is quite active at this point in time. Professionals are exploring the benefits it might bring, the challenges they should be aware of, and the best way to find a balance between humans and AI. This increased interest clearly indicates that Artificial Intelligence in learning is here to stay, and business leaders need to figure out how to make the most of it.

AI isn't going anywhere, and everyone knows that by now. People around the world are using AI for just about any reason or task that you can imagine. I know people who consider the AI chatbots to be friends. I also know people who look at AI as a tool for research. And then there are those who use AI to write correspondence and other types of documents.

A few years into the AI boom, it's clear that designers can rely on AI for some things. It can automate tedious tasks in Photoshop that once took up precious time. It can generate images on command (quality be damned!). It can schedule a meeting, respond to an email, and take notes on a Zoom call. But for all the hype, we know that AI isn't a silver bullet for the real problems creatives face.
