According to the charges, on July 24, at around 9 a.m., an NYPD lieutenant was out on an unrelated assignment when he saw the charred remains of a dog on the street in front of 127-20 116th Ave. in South Ozone Park. The NYPD's Animal Cruelty Investigation Squad and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) were notified, and an investigation was launched.
These incidents appear to be isolated, and there is no identifiable threat to the community or the parishioners at Star of the Sea Church. PA Media A teenage boy and a man have been arrested after a suspected arson attack at an east London restaurant left three people critically injured. Three women and two men were taken to hospital when a blaze ripped through the venue in Woodford Avenue, Gant's Hill, on Friday evening. The Met Police said a 15-year-old boy and a 54-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to danger life.
Police are treating the attacks as racially aggravated, with ongoing investigations prompted by rising community tensions related to asylum seeker housing and past incidents of arson.
