The Gunton Arms is not your average country pub however. Rather than being in the heart of cute little village, it's tucked inside the 1,000-acre grounds of Gunton Park, surrounded by wide open fields and lots and lots of deer. It's run by art dealer Ivor Braka, and his eclectic collection is scattered throughout the pub and bedrooms - think Tracey Emin in the dining room, Damien Hirst in the bar - making it as much gallery as gastropub.
Private members club Astor Club has introduced a new dining experience led by a prominent Chicago chef. Trevor Teich, who earned a Michelin star at his Bucktown fine dining restaurant Claudia, now leads the club's culinary program. At The Chef's Table, he presents a tasting menu that showcases seasonal ingredients and French technique. The exclusive 10-seat communal experience is priced at $325 per person. 24 E. Goethe Street.
Assemble Kitchen, a waterfront gastropub in Richmond, has closed temporarily for renovations. Known for dishes like lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes, its reopening will be announced soon.
