ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have placed second-year cornerback Terrion Arnold on the injured reserve list with a shoulder injury, which will sideline him for at least four games. Arnold, 22, has started in seven of his eight appearances this season, logging 31 total tackles, eight passes defended and an interception. He missed Monday's practice after being injured in the Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers.
On Friday, Arizona Cardinals right tackle Jonah Williams was placed on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season. Williams will undergo season-ending surgery for a shoulder injury that he suffered in Arizona's Week 10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday. "He is a starter, good player," Gannon said. "Just he wasn't going to be able to play the rest of the year."
MIAMI GARDENS - The Miami Dolphins signed cornerback A.J. Green from the Los Angeles Rams practice squad on Wednesday and placed cornerback JuJu Brents (foot) on the injured reserve list. Green, 27, has made two starts in 36 career games. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound Green has totaled 26 tackles, two interceptions, seven passes defended and two recovered fumbles. He has 14 special teams tackles.
Dolphins cornerback JuJu Brents, whose strong play has been a recent eye-opener, is likely out for the season due to a foot injury sustained in Sunday's 16-13 overtime victory over Washington in Madrid, Spain, coach Mike McDaniel said Monday. Brents, the 2023 second-round pick by Indianapolis, was awarded to the Dolphins off waivers on Aug. 27. He has 14 tackles, one pass defended and one fumble recovery this season while making two starts, the last two games, and appearing in seven games.
Hooker, 29, started the first four games of the season (alongside Donovan Wilson, his running mate for the last four years) before a toe injury landed him on IR. That started a shuffle of safeties in Dallas, which, along with their cornerback injuries, has contributed to their bottom-five pass defense. Juanyeh Thomas replaced Hooker in Weeks 5 and 6 before he was sidelined by recurrent migraines. Markquese Bell started next to Wilson in Week 7, but Wilson suffered an elbow injury in that game.
SEATTLE -- The Seattle Seahawks will be without Jarran Reed for at least the next four games after placing the veteran defensive tackle on injured reserve Saturday. Reed has been listed on Seattle's injury reports the last two weeks with a wrist injury but played in their win over the Washington Commanders last Sunday night and was a full participant in practice all three days this week.
Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner will be placed on injured reserve because of a neck injury, coach Shane Steichen said after the team's practice at Berlin's Olympiapark. "He's as tough as they get," Steichen said. The Colts are hopeful Buckner can return at some point, but his absence will be a blow to the Colts' defense for however long he is out. Buckner leads the Colts with 20 pressures despite facing double teams on 64.2% of his pass-rush snaps.
Wentz grimaced in pain throughout the Vikings' 37-10 loss, the result of a torn labrum and fractured shoulder socket he suffered Oct. 5 when he dislocated the shoulder during a Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns. He played with the injury in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles after using the Vikings' bye week to rest and recover, but a short week of preparation entering Thursday night's game left the shoulder particularly tender.
Trevon Diggs, who missed last week with a concussion, was added to the injured reserve on Saturday. Donovan Wilson was ruled out earlier in the week, creating another vacancy alongside Malik Hooker, who has been on the injured reserve for several weeks now. Hooker's replacement, Juanyeh Thomas, is also inactive for the second week in a row with a migraine, leaving the back end of the secondary very depleted.
