For the first preseason game at home in front of (more) Leafs fans, Toronto is going to be putting out on the ice a roster that looks very close to what we could see when they open their season on October 9 against the Montreal Canadiens. Oh, and they're facing a visiting Senators squad that doesn't have a whole lot of NHL talent on it, too.
Nice are a modest club in Italy that have been doing well in recent times. They finished fourth in the Ligue 1 table last season and will now be playing in the UEFA Europa League this campaign. Franck Haise's side, though, have made a disappointing start to the new season. Nice are as low as 12th in the Ligue 1 table at the moment with just six points from five matches, only two points above the relegation zone. Nice will head into the UEFA Europa League match against AS Roma at the Allianz Riviera on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Brest away from home in Ligue 1.
Tottenham are looking to continue their fine form under Thomas Frank when they visit Brighton this afternoon. For Chelsea, Cole Palmer returns to the squad after recovering from his groin injury. Palmer is on the bench with Chelsea's new signing Facundo Buonanotte starting in his place.
We have the biggest game of the season so far. Last season's one and two meet an Anfield, arriving with 100% after a couple of fixtures each. It should be rather delicious Sunday main course. New signings are trying to find their feet still and neither have been perfect while collecting six points. Anfield will be lively because Liverpool will want to put down a marker. Hugo Ekitike is looking settled already and has added a new dimension to the forward line.
Everton and Brighton have confirmed their starting XIs for their Premier League clash at the brand-new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday. The Toffees' new home stages a Premier League game for the first time as David Moyes' men look to start as they mean to go on and bounce back from last week's defeat at Leeds with a victory. Brighton,
