Taliban rulers in Afghanistan on Tuesday accused Pakistan of carrying out an airstrike that killed at least 400 people at a drug treatment hospital in Kabul late Monday. Afghan officials said the strike hit the 2,000-bed rehabilitation facility at around 9 p.m. local time (1630 GMT), causing extensive damage and leaving hundreds wounded, in a major escalation of the weekslong cross-border fighting between the neighbors.
Overnight Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon have killed at least four people, according to Lebanese state media and the government. Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) said on Sunday Israeli forces struck an apartment in a residential building in a northern district of the coastal city of Sidon, killing one person and causing a fire. To the southeast of Sidon, in the village of al-Qatrani, three people were killed in another Israeli attack, according to Lebanon's Ministry of Health.
Tonight, Hezbollah launched over a hundred rockets across the border into northern Israel. This is the largest barrage that we have seen since they got involved in the war. I just spoke with a senior IDF official who says the Israelis, following this rocket fire, are now striking Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
