'With the recent news that the building's redevelopment is on track for autumn 2027, our inbox has been overflowing with residents asking if we'll be involved,' says the Castle in a statement.
Fans whose billing ZIP codes fall within qualifying counties in Los Angeles and Oklahoma were automatically entered into the LA & OKC Locals Presale. Randomly selected registrants will receive 48‑hour purchase windows, with notifications sent on a rolling basis through April 4.
The Victorian building is set to become a 2,300-capacity venue, which the company says will showcase 'a wide range of artists'. The building dates back to 1896, when it was used as a theatre and opera house, before closing its doors in 1933. After that, it became a cinema - though this, too, closed in 1969.
With the next Summer Olympics less than 2 1/2 years away, state legislative leaders this week reflected on the 1984 Games the last time Los Angeles hosted the global sporting event as they seek out ideas and inspiration to make the 2028 Games just as, if not more, successful.
"We have a golden retriever, and so I walk her three or four miles a day, and I do a weight training class twice a week," says Brown, 62, of Arlington, Va. She knows muscle mass will decline without regular strength training. "We have a fun group with a personal trainer and we call ourselves the Beastie Girls," she says, describing how her group helps her stick with it. She also plays tennis and golf.
ICYMI: The 2026 Winter Olympics are currently underway in Milano Cortina. From the "Quad God" to all the athletes winning gold, there has been a ton of buzz around this year's games. And while we watch history happen, let's take a walk down memory lane and see how fan-favorite Olympians have transformed over the years: 1. To start, Michael Phelps made his first Olympic appearance at the 2000 Summer Games in Sydney, Australia, when he was just 15 years old:
I am delighted that the once-in-a-generation redevelopment of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has reached another key milestone with the submission of the planning application for its transformation. The 15hectare site, opened in 1964, is set for a revamp of its athletics stadium, indoor arena, and swimming and diving facilities.
The new 2.5km-long cycleway extension will link the southeast London areas of Greenwich and Woolwich with one continuous, segregated route, meaning no more swerving through traffic or being forced to ride dangerously close to cars. When complete, it'll mean that cyclists will be able to pedal all the way from Woolwich to Tower Bridge. It's also expected to cut cycling journey times - it currently takes just under half an hour to bike between Greenwich Station and Woolwich Station.
The most humbling thing is being at the top of the run with the Paralympic team, who are mostly visually impaired, and they just disappear into the distance while I'm still putting my boots on. As performance director of GB Snowsport, nevertheless, Myall's job is to give the nation's talented crop of snowboarders, freestyle, alpine and mogul skiers a decisive edge when the Games commence in Milan next week.
The huge, roaring screenings, the pubs' fizzling energy, the general sense of revelry in the streets... not to mention the ecstasy if and when England win. The joy of last summer's Lionesses Euros triumph is certainly still fresh in our memories. England and Scotland are already qualified for the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States, while Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland could all still compete in North America in June.
One of the great joys of being an Olympian is arriving at the athletes' village and, with it, the shift in your identity from just being a skeleton athlete to being a part of Team GB. There is a real belonging in putting on the T-shirt or jacket with your country's flag on, and of course with the Olympic rings a symbol of hope and peace and togetherness.
Last month, plans were submitted for Whitechapel Healthcare and Research Campus, a £750m development that would provide homes for key workers and supposedly address needs for more green spaces and community facilities. The proposal for the campus comes from investment firm BGO in collaboration with PLP Architecture and Barts Health NHS Trust. It's part of the newly announced Barts Life Science Cluster.
It could be the last Olympics for a sport that mixes the grace of ski jumping with the grind of cross-country skiing. Nordic combined events at the Milan Cortina Games ended Thursday. And the International Olympic Committee is considering scrapping it from future Games because of a small TV audience and podium positions dominated by a tiny group of nations.
The Saucony Run Shoreditch Half will debut on Sunday September 20, 2026 - and it's from the same people who're behind the Hackney Half. The event began last year as a 10k, with runners starting in Shoreditch Park, winding through the boroughs of Hackney and Islington, then crossing the finish line back at the park. We don't know exactly what the half marathon route will look like yet, but we do know that it'll also start and end at Shoreditch Park.
