Come hear the squeaks, squawks and songs from the SFCO's trumpets, trombones and horns! Very First Concerts are a classical series designed with the youngest listeners in mind. Each interactive, 30 minute concert features a central theme, short selections, and fun hands-on musical activities geared toward families with young children. SFCO concerts are always ADMISSION FREE! RSVP's are NOT required but it helps us to know you're planning to come!

Launched during his years teaching at Stanford in the mid-1980s, the Rockin' Jalapeno Band drew upon his earlier career as an R&B musician in San Antonio, and later, Las Vegas. But the inveterately curious Cuéllar kept expanding the Rockin' Jalapeno sound, deepening its connections to New Orleans grooves, jazz, and soul. Over the decades, the group included dozens of top Bay Area musicians, including many who went on to lead their own bands, and became known as a sure-fire act for fundraisers, community events, rallies and protests.

There's a particular way artists talk about San Francisco when the city has truly mattered to them-not as scenery, but as a place where something shifted. For Cate Le Bon, the Bay Area lives in that register, folded into memory, music, and a formative period that still resonates beneath the surface of the Welsh singer-songwriter's work. "I've spent a lot of time in San Francisco," she says, simply.

BTS is giving Bay Area fans even more of what they want. These K-Pop superstars have just announced a third date at Stanford Stadium on their long-awaited return to the global stage with their 2026-27 world tour. The new BTS date is May 19. The BTS tour, which kicks off on the band's home turf in South Korea on April 9, was already scheduled to play May 16-17 at Stanford Stadium.

British pop and soul star Sam Smith is back on the road in 2026 with a series of concerts and a special residency run, marking one of the year's most anticipated live music events. After a run of shows in late 2025 that included an extended 'To Be Free' residency in Brooklyn, Smith has expanded their performance schedule into February and March 2026 with a residency at San Francisco's historic Castro Theatre - part of the venue's grand reopening.

Throwing Muses, the highly influential band that helped draw up the road map for alt-rock in the '80s and paved the way for Nirvana and so many other acts to follow in the '90s, is finally coming back to town. Throwing Muses, led by phenomenal singer-songwriter-guitarist Kristin Hersh and featuring the equally awesome rhythm section of David Narcizo on drums and Bernard Georges on bass, are set to perform on April 17 at The Chapel in San Francisco.
