A teaching assistant has been jailed after spitting at a child and pinching another pupil's nose at a school in Sittingbourne. Danuska Pullia, of Iwade, in Kent, was sentenced to four years in prison for four counts of child cruelty at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday. The 47-year-old had denied the allegations but Kent Police said she admitted to officers she spat at a child who spat at her and pinched another child's nose to take a chocolate bar out of their mouth.

Kent Police received a report that between 3am and 4.15am on Thursday, July 10, a man carried out an indecent act in the Church Road area of Stone.

Kent Police confirmed that searches at the scene are now complete, and the road which had been intermittently closed since Monday has been made safe. As part of ongoing searches in the area throughout the week, at least nine suspicious devices were dealt with by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

Bodycam footage showed a man holding a chainsaw and another object, which officers suspected to be a firearm or IED, while wearing a gas mask and body armour.

A man's body has been discovered in the River Thames near the Dartford Crossing. Rescue teams confirmed the body was retrieved and the man was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. The death is not considered suspicious and next of kin have been notified. Officers from Kent Police, along with paramedics and the Coastguard, responded to the incident.
