Toronto police said a man is in custody in connection with a suspect arson at a federal government office building in North York Monday. Police said officers responded to a call about a fire in the third floor cafeteria of the building at 4900 Yonge St., near Elmhurst Avenue, just after 11 a.m. Toronto paramedics told CBC Toronto they transported one person to a hospital in serious, non-life threatening condition.
Evidence of gunfire was found at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in North York Sunday morning, said Toronto police. Officers responded to a crash at the Steeles Avenue West and Islington Avenue intersection around 6:24 a.m. Sunday, said Toronto police on social media. Despite there being evidence of gunfire, no shooting victims have been located at this time. A female driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital.
A woman was found dead with stab wounds in a commercial parking lot in North York Thursday morning, according to Toronto police. Officers responded to reports at approximately 9:37 a.m., located the victim, and rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
