Someone stole approximately 66 items worth about $2,000 in a store on South Bascom Avenue. The person who reported the theft discovered it after noticing bare shelves in the store. Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance to Sell: A peace officer stopped two suspects on East Campbell Avenue and determined they were in possession of stolen merchandise. One was found to be in possession of a controlled substance for sale and in possession of someone else's private identifying information.
The shooting happened Oct. 4 near the intersection of Ashby Avenue and Seventh Street, according to the Berkeley Police Department. Police said the man saw the suspects steal a Nissan Altima during a robbery in Oakland and chased them into Berkeley, where he fired a handgun at them from a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Nissan traveled into neighboring Emeryville and collided with a parked car in the 6700 block of Hollis Street, according to police.
Jose Campos Rodas, 31, had been out of custody facing a murder charge in the May 2023 shooting death of 38-year-old Manuel Zambrano. In a plea deal with Alameda County prosecutors, Campos Rodas pleaded no contest to assault with a firearm, then was sentenced to the time he had already served. The sentence was split between the seven months he spent behind bars, and the time he was free but equipped with the GPS device, court records show.
Barbara Dillon has thanked the power of social media which caused a woman in Meath to recognise the stray dog and alert gardaí. 'Rusty' the five year old collie was in the back of the Toyota Landcruiser when it was taken from a car park at Kingscourt, Co Cavan, on Thursday afternoon. Her husband Theo parked his jeep and trailer to go to Kingscourt Mart at midday and when he returned, the jeep and Rusty were gone.
Trump called the city "a great place" but noted he has friends who leave the trunk and doors of their cars open because they know they're going to be vandalized and don't want to risk getting the windows or other parts of their vehicles damaged. "They don't want the trunk ripped off in order for them to steal what's in there, in the back," he said.
