EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (KGO) -- There has been a massive explosion at the Chevron refinery in Los Angeles County Thursday night. This in El Segundo near Manhattan Beach. The fire has been burning since 9:30 p.m. There is no word yet if anyone has been hurt, or what caused the explosion. No evacuation orders have been issued, but people are being told to stay inside.

The blaze began on Thursday night, after emergency services received reports of an explosion at the site, according to CBS news. The cause is unclear. Footage soon emerged showing a bright ball of orange flame against the night sky, followed by plumes of smoke.
In a corn field, we found burnt objects of various sizes , scattered within a radius of several dozen metres. These are burnt metal and plastic fragments.
"After pulling through some of the rubble, we were able to find that we actually did have a victim that was in the collapse. It was also determined that the victim at that point had deceased in the collapse."
The investigation conducted in the aftermath of the fire revealed the presence of an accelerant and that the home's gas line had been tampered with, enabling unrestricted flow of natural gas into the home's interior.
