Live Kitchen fosters encounters between humans and non-humans, creating an ecosystem of harmony that questions contemporary urban ways of living through art and food.

It had everything we wanted as twentysomethings in the city - convenience, charm, great views. Over time, however, our needs have changed, and it's no longer the right fit for us. The only problem? We bought it shortly after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, when rates had plummeted to historic lows. In fact, we locked in a 2.75% mortgage rate - so now we feel trapped in a house that no longer checks all our boxes.

In July 2025, my husband, Zach, and I moved our family of four from the suburbs of Ft Worth, Texas, to Denver. After nearly 10 years of marriage, two kids, and three work-related moves, it was finally time to settle in a place of our choosing. This time, we didn't just want a change of scenery; we wanted a change of lifestyle. But finding a house in the bustling city neighborhood of our dreams within our budget meant downsizing - drastically.
